Sol-Vet U40 syringes are available in 3 sizes:

• 0.3 mL with a 30 G needle (for injections of up to 13 units)
• 0.5 mL with a 29 G needle (for injection of up to 20 units)
• 1 mL with a 29 G needle (for injection of up to 40 units).

Injections with U40 insulin syringes are performed "subcutaneously", i.e. by taking a fold of skin and pricking at an angle to get the needle under the skin and inject the insulin between the dermis and the muscle layers.
