Feliway Classic Spray - Anti-stress for cat

Cats leave facial pheromones to get familiar with their environment: that way, they recognise the places where they have been as friendly and peaceful places. Feliway is an olfactory distraction that you can spray or diffuse in a room to soothe and reassure your cat. Feliway is also available as Feliway electrical diffuser.

General advice for use - Feliway Classic Spray

• Before applying Feliway Classic Spray, clean the surfaces marked with urine. Use a mixture of water and detergent, or a particular product such as Urine Off and make sure your cat is not in the room while you clean. Allow cleaned area to dry. Wait at least 15 minutes before allowing your cat to come into the room where you have sprayed Feliaway.
• Avoid disinfectants, bleach, detergents or odorous products because they can interfere with the action of Feliway Spray. Cats do not like strong smells!
• Shake well before spraying Feliway Spray.
• If you have to apply Feliway Spray on an electrical device, first turn it off, let it cool down and make sure it is dry before turning it on again.
• Spray about 20 cm from the surface. One spray is equal to one dose.

Urine marking

• Before proceeding, seek the advice of your veterinarian to eliminate possible medical causes.
• Apply Feliway Spray daily on all surfaces marked by your cat (after cleaning them) and on all surfaces your cat might mark with urine.
• If there are several cats in the house, it is easier to use Feliway Diffuser.
• To avoid urine marking on new furniture, apply Feliway Spray daily for the first two weeks until the cat marks the objects with its face (rubbing its head on the surfaces).
• In a new environment, apply Feliway Spray daily on every protruding surface and angle of the room for 1 month.

Scratching

• Apply Feliway Spray once a day on the scratched surfaces (approximately 4 to 6 sprays) for 30 days. Continue to use spray, even after the first signs of improvement.
• To eliminate scratching on new furniture, painted walls or any other surface, use Feliway Spray daily in the first two weeks until the cat marks the objects with its face (by rubbing its head on the surface).

Traveling

Prior to traveling and 15 to 30 minutes before placing the cat in the cat carrier, spray the top and floor of the cat carrier twice, and spray each corner once. It is very important to clean the basket before (see cleaning recommendations above).
We recommend that you let your cat get used to the cat carrier beforehand. Letting it play, hide and eat in the transportation basket will reduce stress during the trip.

Feliway Classic Spray - General advice

• Seek advice from your veterinarian to make sure that none of these issues are due to medical problems.
• Feliway does stain on furniture, but we recommend trying it before applying to large surfaces.
• Do not use Feliway Spray while the cat is in the room. Wait 15 minutes before letting your cat come back into the room, until the alcohol is evaporated. The alcohol smell could distract the cat.
• We recommend spraying twice a day if there are several cats in the house.
• Feliway Spray should be used for at least 30 days. Do not stop using it even if you see improvements.
• If there are several cats or old cats, use Feliway Spray for at least 45 days.
• In houses with several cats, use the Feliway Diffuser to reduce the level of stress.
• Do not punish your cat when it marks an area with urine or by scratching, as this could increase its stress.
• Feliway does not hide bad smells.

Precautions for use - Feliway Classic Spray

Keep out of reach of children. In product comes into contact with eyes, rinse immediately with water and seek medical advice specialist. If ingested, seek medical advice immediately, and provide package information to attending physician.
