• In order to improve palatability, the dry formulas are covered in hydrolysed chicken. To avoid the likelihood of an allergic reaction, this hydrolysate has an average molecular weight less than 6000 Daltons and does not contain intact proteins. 
• Feline d/d can also be fed to cats with chronic external otitis (often a symptom of adverse food reaction) and to cats suffering from non-allergic skin disorders, as it provides essential nutrients. Highly purified fish oil has been added as an Omega-3 source (the purifying process has eliminated any residual protein).
